More about the Serious Injury Service

Our amazing team manage claims for people who have had spinal cord injuries, moderate to severe traumatic brain injuries and other severe injuries such as multiple amputations and burns. Their aim is to help our clients and their families adjust to living with a serious injury. We do this by helping our clients set goals such as living independently or participating in work and then helping them access the support they need to achieve their goals.

More about the role

Service Coordinators play a critical role within ACC and the lives of the clients they support. The work is varied and you'll get to work with a variety of different people and situations. Each day you will be faced with the challenge of utilising your knowledge and networks to produce the best possible outcomes, while working within your core guidelines. You will be pivotal in ensuring ACC are providing effective solutions to our clients.

  • Knowledge of the health sector and/or NZ Disability Strategy advantageous
  • Excellent computer and software knowledge
  • A tertiary qualification in rehabilitation or disability such as occupational therapy or physiotherapy.

Service Coordinators work standard business hours, Monday to Friday and this role is primarily office based. You'll liaise with clients via telephone and email primarily but there is also the need to meet with your clients in the ACC branch or in their home environment. Therefore it's important that you're comfortable working in an office environment with a high level of administration. You could be a person who has worked within the health sector in a similar role and you're now ready for the next level.
