We are seeking to appoint a Manager for the Advanced Surgical Skills Centre (ACSC), within the department of Surgery, part of the School of Medicine, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

The ACSC provides a world-class environment for skills research and training which offers courses at all levels in clinical procedures, open and laparoscopic surgery, general surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general practice, theatre nursing and other disciplines.

The opportunity

  • This role is expected to develop and implement effective best and safe practice training programmes that are customer-focused and within the strategy of the ACSC and the faculty
  • You will be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the ACSC's resources and for growing the business using sound policies and procedures in accordance with University of Auckland policy

Who are we looking for?

  • This role will suit an experienced practitioner who has managed teams and works well in team situations, and has the ability to pro actively interact, establish and maintain functional working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • You will be a Registered Nurse, with a current practising certificate
  • Experience in teaching and a theatre environment are desirable
